  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 12 slices American cheese or cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them attached at the edges.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly on the outer sides of each roll half.
  5. Lay the bottom halves of the rolls on a clean working surface.
  6. Place two slices of cheese on each roll half.
  7. Cover each cheesy bottom half with the top halves of the rolls to assemble the sandwiches.
  8. Place the sandwiches on the preheated grill or skillet.
  9. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes until golden and melted.
  11. Remove from heat and let cool briefly before slicing into mini sandwiches.
  12. Optionally, sprinkle chopped parsley over the sandwiches for garnish.

Notes

Serve with tomato soup or your favorite dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
