- 8 ounces of pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your preferred type)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the vegetable or chicken broth and bring it to a gentle boil.
- Add the pasta, stirring well to submerge it in the broth.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions for around 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the pasta is cooked and most liquid absorbed, reduce heat to low.
- Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper. Optionally stir in chopped parsley.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley.
